looking at animal rights violations through a colonialist lens

as the title suggests, i think there is an untapped way of looking at rights of animals and how they are being violated through a colonialist lens. this would directly intersect with colonial oppressive ways of thinking as we apply it to indigenous peoples. there is probably a lot to say on this topic, but i feel compelled to look into it more. just thought id float the idea here.

i hope work related to this in academia helps to draw attention to the neglected animals currently being slaughtered on mass.
